Country: HK
Genre: Drama
Conditions of visioning: 30.04.2014, Teatro nuovo, FEFF2014
Synopsis: Three girls teenager communicate are friends via chat and meet seldomly. One has a rich family, the other lives with the grandma and prostitutes for the money and the last one lives with junky parents. When one of her disappears, the other start to search for her.
Review: The story could be of a melodrama as the three characters live very lonely lives and things turn bad and worse. The directing is not melo so that the story seems more realistic and it becomes very touching as the three girls act very well, especially Rainky Wai.
The title as the movie tells about the loneliness partly compensated by the online chating, and about how this generation is asking to communicate, to have friends, to have support from parents or so. All this is missing and these teenagers are left alone by their parents. In this way it is also a story that could happen in Europe, not necessarily with the same type of violence.
I have been bluffed by the story reminding Whispers and moans, also from HK, telling the story of prostitutes. But not as young as in May we chat. This kind of reality is chocking and reveals a cruel underground.
Rating: 7 /10
