Review: The originality is not only in the plot, but in its treatment. This love remains unexplained to me. And awakes extreme hate in the daughter/friend, in the mistress and in the wife/mother and in the wannabee boyfriend. A few more minutes would have helped a lot to explain where this love is coming from, by showing the first time they met, one moment they shared or anything hint. Maya's happiness is visible on her face and hearable in her voice. These presence of happiness and hate are the major originality of the movie. Also the controversial relationship is solved in a dramatic and still realistic way. The acting is dramatic and well controlled by the secondary characters. Maya is not so dramatic but very emotional and without exaggerations. The camera is often standing or close as a documentary. The characters are often in the dark when they meet. This gives me the impression to be observer and somtetimes stalking the characters. |
