Review: I had read some good about the mix of genres in this movie and I was not disappointed. The story takes place in 1989 and the whole movie really feels like that period: clothes, furniture, cars, people's habits, even the color tones in the images. Such fidelity reminds me of Spike Lee's Summer of Sam (the 80's) and in a completely different genre Conjuring (the 70's). Fortunately the music is not from that period (a soundtrack with Dance music would have been embarrassing), it is more timeless but gives a great atmosphere and fits very well with the scenes.
Michael C. Hall is excellent in this role of a regular man facing exceptional events, and what a nice moustache, I couldn't recognize him from Gamer.  Sam Shepard is great as well, and the appearance of the not-that-bad-either Don Johnson marks a turn in the movie, making its structure similar to the one of A History of Violence.
I could only criticize an excess of 'epic shots with epic music' at times, and a few unrealistic actions (not very discreet car tailing) and reactions (the motivation of the characters sometime appear unclear), but it is otherwise a very good a refreshing Thriller that I can recommend.
Rating: 8 /10
