Dear Cinephiles,
we gave good ratings to many movies this months, maybe because we selected movies from the 90's-00's that we knew we were in the mood to watch again.
The best were the great anticipation film Children of Men from 2006 but still actual in its depiction of migrants, The Fugitive with Harrison Ford tracked by Tommy Lee Jones and its less good sequel U.S. Marshals, Tony Scott's Deja Vu with Denzel Washington, the DC comic book adaptation Constantine with Keanu Reeves and the M. Night Shyamalan reflection on superheroes Unbreakable.
We were even in the good mood to appreciate Action-ridden things like John Woo's Face / Off, Maximum Risk with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Michael Bay's arguably most serious movie Pearl Harbor. And we loved to watch again the French montage-comedy La Classe Américaine - Le Grand Détournement.
The exception to those older movies was the recent biopic on the Queen rock band Bohemian Rhapsody that we loved.
We watched the documentary Bombing War and in its wake the recommendable series World War II in Colour.
We finally released an Article about the Actors most popular on JoRafCinema, two years in the making since the release of a similar article about Directors.
We ended the month with choices of poorer quality, the worst being the remake of Point Break that I only mention to encourage you not to watch.
Meanwhile one of us was present at the 21st edition of our beloved Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy, so be on the look-out in May for a summary Article.
