Synopsis: Camille was sixteen years-old when she met Eric. They fell madly in love and had a daughter... 25 years later: Eric is leaving Camille for a younger woman. That's New Year's Eve, and Camille suddenly finds herself back in her past. She is sixteen again and has returned to her parents, her girlfriends, her childhood... and Eric.
Review: The plot could sound a bit American if the story would not be very French. Camille does not try to get the most of fun out of her fate, but tries to avoid her mistakes and is lost in plenty of dilemmas. A comedy with psychology, and finally with the efficient hint on how a love relationship can survive: yes, always remember the good times and do not expect too much from the other. This could also come from a Dr. Phil session. The choice ofhaving the same actors for the roles of teenagers and 40-year olds is not bad as it brings humour and lot of sensitivity in the acting. The dialogues and locations for the story are good and the scenery is not arty and does not destroy the wished authenticity of the story. This is then not a surprise that Noémie Lvovsky already worked with Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi. She has the talent to be a typical French author for comedy and drama.
Rating: 6 /10

  1. It seems like a movie to watch with one's girlfriend.
You didn't categorize it as a Romance, is it not one?

  2. No! It is not a romance at all. Or maybe the last minutes are quite romantic. The movie is rather a comedy making fun of people and their idea of love. I did not try to watch the movie with my girlfriend... something was missing and this was not the cold Charitea Mate
