Review: The FEFF wouldn't be the FEFF without watching a Horror movie from Thailand of the Philippines (see our reports on the FEFF2006, FEFF2008 and FEFF2009). Sunod looks good and is well-made, but from the synopsis you can tell that it will not be very original. Classical Horror elements are put together but this is not enough to make something fresh: old hospital, little girl, night-time, mother under stress...
I haven't watched a Horror movie in a long time, so at least I am glad this one didn't assault me with jump-scares but instead just gave me enough shivers a few times. I don't have much more to say: the images look good even at night, a secondary story and a twist keeps you entertained in the third act, the characters react rather naturally and their interactions are realistic, the mother goes (spoiler, highlight to read) 6th Sense by helping the ghost to free its soul.
A good movie, just nothing extra-ordinary, but maybe that's enough in a saturated market which keeps on trying to overdo itself.
Rating: 6 /10
