Synopsis: A former spy fails to find success as a manga artist. One drunken night, he creates a comic about his top-secret adventures. It’s a hit, but his newfound popularity won’t come without its fair share of trouble.
Review: This movie is a comedy first, and (too) often goes out of its way for a cheap gag. But it also has a few good scenes, and several details that get you attached to the main character, like his unsupportive daughter and wife or his ex-partners.
A very good idea is the flashbacks shown as drawn by the artist, but animated instead of a static manga. This makes a nice transition with the real world.
Unfortunately, this movie which started with a good idea gets uninspired in its second half, and pretty boring by trying to stretch to 2 hours.
Rating: 4 /10
