Review: This is the second indigeneous movie that I watch in the Berlinale 2015. In only 53 minutes we are introduced to the daily life in the village and to its contrasts. What surprises me is that the clash of religions (local traditional and catholicism) is presented as new, when the catholic Spanish occupied Mexico for 500 years. I would have understood to be amazed by the fusion of both religions as it is done in other Latin American countries. There are some events that are presented raw without cut and therefore look a bit boring. But there is an idea to show the fusioned culture and as such I support this movie more than Silvestre Pantaleon. | |
