Synopsis: An FBI agent and an Interpol detective track a team of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money. | |
Review: The story starts very well introducing the magician team. Then the police team. By showing that some things can happen only caused by the Eye, kind of unnamed god, and in parallel showing that all is manipulated by one guy, the movie becomes a bit confused. Nevertheless it is a very good entertainment. Nothing extraordinary except the introduction of the protagonists, becoming along the movie kind of Robin Woods. This idea of robbing banks and insurances to give the money back to people always works. This is the type of movie calling for a number 2, but that you can forget also quite easily. |

I have watched this movie on 08.12.2013 in HD VOD on my Home cinema. I rather liked it, although the story is sometimes incoherent. Also once you understand that the magicians are capable of everything (so after five minutes), then you don't trust what you see in the movie, as all can be a trick. The pace if very fast and it took some concentration to follow it (and understand the English original dialog), so that the movie probably requires a second viewing.
ReplyDeleteBut apart from the inconistencies, I liked the way the story is edited, for example the fact that we never hear the point of view of the four magicians once they big show starts, i.e. after 10 minutes. I also like Marc Ruffalo that played a very good Hulk in Marvel's Avengers. My rating would be 6/10 as well.
