Dear Cinephiles,
in June we have reviewed some average Action movies from 2014: Robocop, Pompei, Sin City: A Dame to Kill for, Hercules and the excellent sequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. After Mad Max: Fury Road we watched the animalistic dyptic produced/directed by George Miller: the touching Babe followed by Babe: Pig in the City.
Continuing our series of 70's movies with Clint Eastwood we discovered and appreciated The Beguiled, in the classic Disney series: Dumbo and La Vénus à la fourrure from Roman Polanski. From Brasil we loved Trash and the realistic Action Thriller Elite Squad, from Spain the Drama Mar Adentro, from Libanon the other drama Et maintenant on va où? and from Denmark the historical fiction A Royal Affair. Our favorite movie this month: The Railway Man.
Finally we discovered for the first time 80's SF and Polar classics with respectively Alien Nation and Year of the Dragon.
