Dear Cinephiles,
the month of October on JoRafCinema was filled with experimental movies, of which we can particularly recommend The Bomb, a kind of musical Documentary, Latitude 40° and Good Luck both presented at the modern art exhibition documenta14 in Kassel, Germany.
We have also given good ratings to movies from around the 2000's: Kevin Smith's vision of a romantic comedy Zack and Miri make a Porno, the psychological Thriller The Mandchurian Candidate with Denzel Washington and the military polar The General's Daughter with John Travolta. We particularly liked Collateral with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx and the first two seasons of the TV-show Breaking Bad that we finally started watching.
Some older movies also caught our attention: the 1968 Night of the Living Dead by the recently departed George A. Romero and the classic SF Polar Blade Runner by Ridley Scott, which sequel Blade Runner 2049 is currently in theaters.
Among recent released we liked the romantic comedy The Big Sick and fell in love with the Nordic co-production The Square to the point of granting it our highest rating.
JoRafCinema received the Press Accreditation for the Nordic Film Days 2017 in Lübeck, the major film festival in Europe about Scandinavian and Baltic movies. Therefore be prepared to read many reviews based on that festival in the coming weeks.
Last but not least, do not miss the article we wrote to celebrate JoRafCinema's fifth anniversary.
Jo&Raf
