Dear Cinephiles,
The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) starts in a couple of days and since we know that JoRafCinema will be there with press accreditation, we have reviewed the program and watched quite a few movies by Kevin Smith who will be a guest there: Mallrats, Cop Out, Too Fat for 40 and Jersey Girl. There was also a lot of sex-talk in the Canadian diptych Le Déclin de l'Empire Américain / Les Invasions Barbares.
Besides, we have been working on emptying our shelve of DVDs to watch. It was often easy to understand why the movies were stuck on that shelve: because they are bad. Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning and The Land that Time Forgot are such movies.
By contrast, we loved the old classics Lawrence of Arabia, La Gifle and Alfred Hitchcock's Rope.
Among recent releases our favorites were Edge of Tomorrow, Desert Dancer and Boyhood.
Stay tuned to JoRafCinema in July to read the review of the movies we will watch at the NIFFF and to get our impressions on the Festival.
Jo&Raf
