Dear Cinephiles,
We started the year for real with 30 reviews published in February.
There is one inspiring Best of Mad Movies 2011-2012 where many movies are mentioned that we have watched in fact. Still inspired by the excellent The Birdman we watched another movie by Iñárritu, Biutiful that we recommend. We hope these will be motivating for you as for us to watch again some movies from the Best of Mad movies or from the few other movies directed by Iñárritu.
Some movies we can highly recommend: District 9 by the SFX expert Neil Blomkamp. Even if our opinions diverge, we definitely recommend Match point by Woody Allen. We also recommend Noah, Clear and present danger in the series of Tom Clancy movies and Megamind. From our tour in the Berlinale 2015, we recommend The forbidden room by the mystic director Guy Maddin and the very interesting Afghan documentary Tell Spring not to come this year. A summary article on the short stay in the Berlinale (one week-end) will follow in March.
Finally we pursued our retrospective on Hitchcock with Marnie and Sabotage.
