JoRafCinema Newsletter - April/May 2020

Dear Cinephiles,

only a few movies watched in the past two months, but a trend is starting: we want to see more from the 70's. It started with the nice 1974 Death Wish with Charles Bronson, after watching the 2018 remake starring Bruce Willis and with the same title Death Wish. And we plan to continue with the four other movies in the Bronson series. Other movies from that period like Scorpio from the same director Michael Winner haven't been fully satisfying yet.
The only other appreciable thing we reviewed is the third season of the 80's revival show Stranger Things, less intense than the first but still nice.
But more than watch recommendations, this newsletter is the opportunity to encourage you to participate to the two Asian Film Festivals that will take place, online, in June: The Nippon Connection (normally in Frankfurt, Germany) from June 9 to 14 and our beloved Far East Film Festival usually in Udine, Italy, from June 26 to July 4. Both programs are already available, subscriptions are open and it is pretty cheap to watch movies that will change from what we can catch while confined, or with theaters still closed anyway throughout the World.

JoRafCinema will follow part of them both, review movies as usual and maybe try some other surprises as well...
