Synopsis: Simon (Skarsgård) lives in a village close to Göteborg. At school he befriends with Isak (Linnertorp) who has a very rich father Ruben Lentov (Liefers), Jew. During the second World War both families will come closer and discover some secrets one another.
Review: The story starts good with a hidden family story in a small village of South Sweden. Then that story is is interrupted by the burst of WW2 only to force people to speak about this family story. This idea is good and makes it more emotional as well.
The cut focuses on the WW2 topics and the poetic sitting in the trees is unfortunately not used to get deeper in the feelings of Simon. The camera is well driven and benefits from some beautiful natural lights. Inside the lights are not so good.
The acting ot the two children in the different ages is good, in particular the younger age. The two fathers Gödicke and Liefers are good in their roles while the mother Sjöholm and the aunt are too melodramatic for my taste. But well, melodrama is typical from Scandinavia.
Rating: 6 /10
