Dear Cinephiles,
We have enjoyed many movies this month, starting with the excellent Three billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri with amazing acting. We also liked The Disaster Artist and The Room that inspired it. Probably the first one will become more cult for JoRafCinema than the original.
Other American movies to recommend: Kingsman: the Golden Circle although not as good as the first, the nice documentary about film music Score, and a special mention to I Origins for its unexpected story. We liked the time-travel story in Timeline, took a guilty pleasure watching Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, perfect adaptation of the video game, and even found good things in the first Twilight movie, not so much in the sequels...
Many European movies received good reviews this months: the Finnish sister road trip Miami and the black comedy Mielensäpahoittaja, the surprising German fantasy Dark Circus and Loving Vincent, a painted flashback into the live of Van Gogh.
Among older releases we enjoyed a lot Disney's jazzy The Aristocats and the French Comedy La Cuisine au Beurre with Bourvil and Fernandel.
